Palma Christi, Pressed for Today

Palma Christi, Pressed for Today

Castor oil has a long history of topical use for a variety of common skin concerns, including warts, itching, seborrhea, and age spots. Because many skin marks and lesions can look similar, anything new, changing, or unfamiliar should be assessed by a health-care practitioner before treatment. Once the issue has been confirmed as benign, castor oil is a smart option for natural, topical treatment.

Our Organic Castor Oil is 100% pure, cold-pressed, and hexane-free—no additives, zero fillers. It is a notably thick oil, closer to the consistency of honey than to almond or jojoba oil. This rich viscosity is part of what makes castor oil distinctive. Applied to a wart, a flaky patch, or an age spot, its thick texture helps it stay where you place it, creating a conditioning layer over the targeted area rather than spreading across surrounding skin. The 500 ml bottle holds roughly 100 applications, making it an economical option for consistent, longer-term use.

And don’t just take our word for it; people have reached for this oil for thousands of years. It appears in ancient Egyptian and Mediterranean practices, and its traditional use has been recorded across roughly 50 countries. The plant’s large, fanlike leaves, which resemble an open hand, gave the oil its historic name, Palma Christi, or “palm of Christ,” a nod to the protective role it has long held. Few botanical oils have remained part of traditional skincare for so many generations.

Who Can Benefit from Organic Castor Oil

Why Three Weeks, Not Three Days

Castor oil’s fatty-acid content is approximately 90% ricinoleic acid, a distinctive hydroxylated fatty acid responsible in part for the oil’s rich, viscous texture. Applied topically, castor oil forms an emollient layer that helps reduce moisture loss and soften dry, flaky surface skin. These conditioning effects develop with regular use rather than after a single application, which is why consistent daily application for several weeks is recommended before assessing the results.

Prioritize Sleep and Vitamin D

Prioritize Sleep and Vitamin D

Common warts are caused by a virus, so topical care addresses only part of the problem. Restorative sleep and adequate levels of vitamin D provide the conditions your body needs to help heal itself.

Rebuild the Barrier from Within

Rebuild the Barrier from Within

Healthy skin depends on the nutrients you provide, including zinc, omega-3 fatty acids, and adequate protein. As topical care supports the surface, deeper renewal relies on building blocks available beneath it.

Shield Your Hands and Forearms

Shield Your Hands and Forearms

Age spots often appear on the backs of the hands and forearms, areas where sunscreen is often forgotten or washed off. Remember, UV exposure persists year-round, even through car windows.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Castor oil should not be used to remove skin tags, moles, or birthmarks. These skin growths should be assessed and removed by a health-care practitioner, particularly if they are new, changing, or unfamiliar. Attempting removal at home may cause irritation, bleeding, or scarring, and could delay the diagnosis of potentially serious skin lesions. Castor oil can be used to remove common warts, relieve itchy skin, and treat seborrhea and age spots.

Use the ABCDE guide as your starting point. Asymmetry; an irregular Border; uneven Colour; a Diameter larger than a pencil eraser; or any Evolution in size, shape, or texture—all warrant a professional look. The same goes for anything that bleeds, itches persistently, or fails to heal. If you have many moles, very fair skin, or a family history of skin cancer, it is recommended to get skin checks at least once a year. Nothing topical should be applied to a spot you have not had properly identified.

To make a castor oil pack, traditionally known as a poultice, soak a clean piece of wool or cotton flannel in cold-pressed castor oil. Place it on your skin, cover with a plastic sheet to help prevent leaks, and apply a warm heating pad or hot water bottle for 30–60 minutes. We recommend using old towels or blankets to protect bedding from oily stains. It may be stored in the fridge in an airtight container and reused.

The use of castor oil packs is widely discussed online for digestion and inflammation; however, further clinical research is needed to verify these proclaimed benefits.

Plan for weeks, not days. Natural castor oil does not contain harsh synthetic products or acids; therefore, it works more gradually. You need to apply it daily for at least three weeks. Consistent use can make a big difference. If the wart worsens or shows no improvement with regular use, check in with your health-care practitioner.

“Cold-pressed” means the oil is mechanically pressed from the seed without heat. “Hexane-free” means no synthetic solvent was used to extract it. Many castor oils on the market are solvent-extracted, which is cheaper and faster. Ours is 100% pure, certified-organic with nothing else added.
